SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge is one of the largest savings banks i Norway, with employees and offices throughout the region.
Our roots go back to the first half of the 1800s, when the first banks were established in Norway. We empower growth and development in local communities and for customers around us, whether they are individuals, businesses, or organizations.
SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge is the result of a series of mergers. The group was formed when SpareBank 1 SR-Bank and SpareBank 1 Sørøst-Norge merged on October 1, 2024.
Our largest owners are savings bank foundations. Seven foundations own a total of 44 percent of SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge. The values the group and our customers create together help to create better everyday lives for everyone in the local communities around us, counteract exclusion among children and young people, and promote sustainable development.
Through our own companies, partly-owned companies, and the SpareBank 1 alliance, we offer a broad range of services. These include banking services, accounting services, real estate brokerage, insurance, asset management, and financing.
The financial group has offices in Vestland, Rogaland, Agder, Telemark, Vestfold, Buskerud, and the Oslo area. The headquarters are located in Stavanger.

FATCA
In March 2010 the United States passed on Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) to prevent US tax evasion. The purpose of FATCA is achieved by requiring foreign financial institutions to report to the US tax authorities (IRS) regarding customer relationships where the customer directly or indirectly is a resident in the US.
In April 2013 Norway signed an intergovernmental agreement with the US (IGA model I) in which Norwegian public authorities undertake an obligation to ensure the collection of data from Norwegian financial institutions and then report these to the USA.

Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a global identification number. The number is used to identify legal entities participating in financial transactions, and in connection with the financial markets reporting.
