International payments
How to make an international payment
- Recipient's name and address
- Recipient's IBAN. Check which countries requires IBAN or account number and BIC (SWIFT) on swift.com.
- Amount and currency
Click on the green buttom at the top of the page. It will take you directly to foreign payments.
Or, log in and use the online banking menu. Choose "Payment", then "International payment".
- Choose account for payment or create new recipient.
- Enter the amount you want to pay. The currency is preset according to what country you are making the payment to. If you are paying an amount in NOK which is being transferred to another currency, choose NOK, then the currency that you want the transfer to be done in. We recommend that you choose the currency of the receiving country if it is on the list. If it is not, it is wise to choose EUR for countries in Europe and USD for the rest of the world. This ensures the payment is as cheap and quick as possible.
- Charges are split between sender and receiver. We recommend that you share the expenses. This is the cheapest solution both for you and for the recipient. If you do not want to split the charges, but want either sender or recipients to pay them in full, you can chose this under "Show options" and "Charges".
