Become a customer without BankID
In order to open an account with us, you need a Norwegian P.O.box or Norwegian residential address. Before filling out the electronic form, make sure you have:
- A national identity number or D-number
- A valid e-mail address
- A mobile phone number.
The bank will now register the information you have provided in the electronic form. Within 10 days, we will send you an sms and ask you to come to our nearest office, where you have to sign the agreement documents and identify yourself. Remember to bring the identification documents you have listed in the form with you, as well as additional documentation (e.g. passport, refugee travel document, EEA registration certificate). Once you have been to our office, the account will be opened within ten days. You will also be given a debitcard and online banking in order to access the account. We will issue "Without BankID" so you can access online banking.

Identification requirements
Please be noted that you must have a national identity number (or D-number) in order to become a customer. The Norwegian Tax Administration is responsible for issuing this. Below you will find an overview of our identification requirements. Be aware that an emergency passport is not valid. You must provide the original identification papers, a copy will not suffice.
If you have a Norwegian red passport, you can have access to all our services.
If you do not have a passport, only a bank card with picture or a Norwegian driver's license, you can open an account, debitcard without picture and "Without BankID".

With a valid passport, you can have "Without BankID", an account and a debitcard without picture.

If you have a passport and an EEA registration certificate, or an EEA national ID card (Schengen standardized residence card) you will get an account, a debitcard without picture and "Without BankID".

If you have a refugee travel document, an immigrant's passport or a passport from a country outside of the EU/EEA (and a work or residence permit if you have), you will get an account, debitcard without picture and "Without BankID".
A card for asylum seeker is not valid as identification.
